At Windhill we have had a few computers for a while but the addition of the Shipley Communities Online computer has opened up opportunities for people and altered some of our ways of working.

The workers and even our sceptical Treasurer all regularly use e-mail. The scanner and printer enable us to all sorts of things. Last week I scanned and printed off some old photos from a book for a Memories Group member and she was delighted.

Access to the Internet will enable so many people to access so much information. A volunteer with the Homework Club uses it to help students with projects; I showed some volunteers in the Centre the 'Eureka Museum' wesite before they went on a visit there, and Sandra our Advice Worker has obtained information about medical conditions.

We have people coming in to 'jobsearch' and to use the computer as their 'learning resource'. Our cleaner's husband had bought a computer but didn't know how to use it - now he is learning at the Centre. the possibilities seem endless and one of the problems I can see with our 'resources' is that we will need more in the near future!
