New Start Resources

The pilot project offered New Start the opportunity to give local people the chance to learn new skills at a local centre. The project supplied a new computer with up-to-date software and this enabled us to increase our training capacity by up to 35 hours per week. In a short time this facility was oversubscribed and learning time had to be ratiooned. The project co-ordinators recognised the need for more availability and installed another full kit , originally sharing one ISDN line.

As the project grew, the Internet became a reality through the development work of the EASA outreach team. This gave the centre extra expertise in assisting clients with our online service.

Even more people then took advantage of the increased options within the online project and this led to the installation of another ISDN line to enable independent usage of each kit.
